Porter
Porter was a very sweet 7 year old Great Dane that had to be surrendered because his owner died. We were all ready to help him break out of jail, since his home was foreclosed on and sent to the pound, when the stress of losing his owner and moved into a noisy environment caused him so much stress he bloated. He was rushed into ER to save his life and they went in to help him and found that his spleen was enlarged with many tumors; this probably egged on the bloat. We let Porter pass over the rainbow bridge while he couldn't feel any more pain. We were there for him up until the very moment, even though he didn't know we were there. But I am sure he knew we cared enough to try and help him after losing his forever loved one; it just was too late. We will miss this possible new addition to rescue as he was a very sweet boy and only wanted attention. We are hopeful he has now crossed over and found his owner again in heaven. Love you darling Porter

Barley
Barley was adopted by a wonderful family back in October 2008. Barley fit in with their family seamlessly. She was a great companion and had a very congenial disposition. She enjoyed slow walks and all of the treats offered to her by local merchants. She was the mascot that any giant breed owner could have; adored by absolutely everyone. Barley left this world with her family right next to her side and crossed over that rainbow bridge with all the families love and tears. Barley thank you for coming into all of our lives, I know we in rescue will always think of you and never forget such a wonderful girlie A personal note from the family: "We will miss Barley forever. June 2010."

Jenna
Jenna was a beautiful young English Mastiff that was loved by her family. She suffered from a neurological condition that would incapacitate her and make it impossible to lift her back end and walk. Neurologists gave Jenna a prognosis that nobody wants to hear and her family made the painful decision to put her to rest with us by their side. Jenna was only 2 and wagged her tail until the end. She will be missed by her family and by those she touched. Rest in Peace Jenna. We all loved you.

Nora
This was Nora our 6 year old owner surrender. Nora was the sweetest mastiff I have ever fostered. She loved everyone and everything and did her best to get around with severe arthritis in both her knees and a torn ACL. This didn't stop her at all from being the best dog ever and unbelievable in deamnor. Just a complete wiggle butt all the time and laid back girl that nothing bothered her. She really was a love muffin. We got her in to fix all her ailments: ontop of the ACL repair, she had serious infections in both ears and her teeth were really bad as well so we fixed all that too. We wanted her to get the works so that she could feel like a new girl to go with her new life. Well, Nora was doing very well after her surgery and didn't seem to mind all the special attention she was getting for her after care, pampered like any queen around. We are not sure why things went this way but Nora passed away in her sleep one night after going to bed seemingly normal. Did she finally feel that all those years of fighting the pain she could now let go and cross over that rainbow bridge comfortably because we certainly didn't feel like it was her time at all. We still miss her and will never forget her generosity to accept us as her new foster family. We couldnt spoil Nora enough and we really wish we could have had a chance to say goodbye. I hope she knows we will never forget her as I am still crying just thinking about her wonderful face. Nora, you will be forever in our hearts. We love you

Roxy
Roxy was an amazing giant that fought a tough battle with Addison's disease. When she came to us she wasn't regulated at all but we finally, after so much time, got her to where she needed to be and stablized, playing like any young giant should. Sure she got tuckered out quickly because of the disease but she was no longer coma girl every single day and that was very important for her life even be it so short. She lived out that last year of her life with us in rescue where she had found some sense of relief that we were there when the Addison's took over and she was no longer comfortable in this life form. We were there with Roxy and fed her cookies and beef jerky which she loved always. There was no more pain, there was no more atrophy, there were no more injections and daily prescriptions. She is now running free with all our other giants and no cares in the world as to what might ache tomorrow. We love you Roxy, bless you for being in our lives and showing us so much of what it takes to be a hero in such a selfish world. You were everyone's friend.
